You could not possibly find another site in Lithuania that could boast such a large number of unique stories as the Neringa Resort, a land of various legends, which this year invites you to share your unique experiences of the Lithuanian Sahara. The most inspiring stories will be awarded with special prizes.
Those who take interest in this beautiful resort located on the Baltic Coast, may be aware of the fact that even to this very day Neringa’s landscape is still alive in the memoirs of poets, artists and holiday makers who were looking for inspiration and a retreat from the city life as far back in time as a century ago. Thanks to the captured memories, the first impression of the writer’s Thomas Mann’s visit to this country is still alive to this very day, the impression that inspired him not only to acquire a permanent place of residence, a villa, in this land but also to devote the time spent here to creative pursuits .
And what are the contemporary Neringa stories like? What inspiration does a contemporary individual seek in Neringa, or maybe he or she has already found it?
The Neringa Resort invites contemporary guests, too, to share their stories related to their stay in this resort: maybe they collect sunsets or sunrises, or maybe they cannot imagine a good year without the nautical miles spent breaking the waves while force kiting. Maybe to some people Neringa was the site of their first love, engagement or wedding, or maybe it was their first childhood resort or the favorite refuge of all their summers, which still to this very day it tempts them to come back with their entire family, with their offspring. Maybe for some people it is not only the perfect place for their summer holidays, but also the perfect place to live and create. Make sure to share your stories!
The best storytellers will be awarded a prize – a weekend in Neringa
Describe how or why you are inspired by Neringa and illustrate your story on the social network Instagram with pictures or videos taken in the territory of Neringa Municipality and take part in the contest!
The authors of three best stories will be awarded a special prize – a weekend in Neringa in September – in the season when the sunny weather, the warm Baltic Sea and the events dedicated to International Tourism Day are genuine delight to our guests. The prizes – the weekends (accommodation for 2 nights) will be granted by the “Nidus” Hotel, the “Nidos Stiegė” Guest House and the “Nidos Kempingas” Camping that has comfortable apartments. And that is not all – Neringa’s friends “Happeak”, “Irklakojis” and the Lithuanian Association of Resorts will allot additional prizes information about which will be available during the contest!
The contest will admit all photos and videos that alongside with stories are posted on social network Instagram profiles (not in Stories). Make sure to add to your text and the photo the hashtag #IkveptiNeringos arba #InspiredByNeringa and mark @curonian_spit_neringa. To be eligible for the contest, the participants’ profiles must be public so that the photo is visible to the public and can be shared. The contest will take place from 1 May to 31 August.
